  • Teams of six are allowed
  • GNOT Teams qualifying Event - Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd February
  • GNOT Regional Final - Sunday 20th September

Club Teams Championships

 Saturday/ Sunday 13th/14th June 

·       This is also a GNOT qualifying event, eligible for Gold Points

·       To compete, players must be Orange Club members.

·       The championship will be played over 3 sessions – Saturday PM, Sunday AM & PM. Teams of six are allowed.

·       The competition will include a Novice championship which will be held concurrently (subject to at least three novice teams participating).

·       Novices to be under 100 Masterpoints.(at 31/5/20)

·       The whole competition will comprise one field with 2 award levels.

Club Pairs Championships - Dan McLean Trophy

Saturday/Sunday 14th/15th November

·       To compete for the Pairs Championship, players must have the same partner for the entire 3 session event.

·       The event will include a Novice championship (subject to there being at least three Novice teams participating).

·       Novices to be under 100MP.

·       The format will be a Mitchell movement for Sessions 1(Sat PM) and 2 (Sun AM) followed by a final session (Sun PM) as a 7 table Howell with the top 7 NS players and the top 7 EW players.

·       The balance of the field will compete in the plate. The format will be determined by the director on the day.

New Event - Monthly Eclectic Competitions

A monthly eclectic competition will apply to all regular playing sessions from February to November 2020. Members are automatically entered into Eclectic Competitions, free of charge, simply by playing in eligible sessions.

Bonus green masterpoints are awarded for every Monthly Eclectic Competition. To be eligible you meed to play at least three sessions with the same partner in any one month. The top half of the eligible field receives bonus green points.

New Event - Rookie Rivalry

Rookie Rivalry, a new event open to players with less than 5 masterpoints, is aimed at encouraging our newer players to participate fully in club events - held on the 2nd Monday of each month.

Dot Whitney Trophy - Tops and Bottoms Competition

Awarded to the most successful “bottoms” member (fewer than 30 Masterpoints) calculated from 1st January 2020 to 30th November 2020.

Clark Trophy

Open and Restricted (fewer than 100 Masterpoints)

·       Open to all members.

·       Played on the evening of the first Wednesday of each month from February to November. 

·       Members must play with a different partner each month to qualify.

Points allocated to each member depend on playing format.

Doctors Plate

Awarded to the Home Club member who wins the most points in Orange Bridge Club up to Club Master rank (5 Masterpoints) calculated from 1st December 2019 to 30th November 2020

Suzanne Kay Trophy

 

In 2020, awarded to the member who scores the best percentage in the club in the following 4 events:

 ·       Bridge for Brains - Monday  4th May

 ·       State Wide Pairs - Monday  3rd August 

 ·       Australia Wide Pairs - Monday 24th August

 ·       Nationwide Pairs  Monday - 19th October

·         Regional/State: combining Regional, *Regional, State and  *State Masters)

·         National: (combining National, *National and **National Masters)

·         Life and above: (combining Life, Bronze Life, Silver Life, Gold Life, Grand Masters and above).

 

Most Improved Player

Awarded to the member who tops the ABF most improved player list for the period: 1st December 2019 to 30th November 2020.

Teams Competition

To encourage participation, OBC is continuing the monthly teams session.  This will be held on the 3rd Friday morning of each month.
